The University of Oklahoma has been collecting Oklahoma government documents since before statehood in 1907, but the Oklahoma Documents Depository system was not officially founded until 1976. For this reason, pre-1976 Oklahoma state documents are oftentimes difficult to locate in the OU library. But since the State Depository System was established, there has been a clear flow of State of Oklahoma Documents and the documents are more readily available in the OU Library.
The Oklahoma documents are housed in the closed stacks of the OU Government Documents Collection, and their records are in the OU Catalog.
