Accessibility and Sensory Guide to Bizzell Memorial Library

Buses: Campus Area Rapid Transport

OU offers bus transportation across the campus. The service is free for OU students, faculty, and staff (with the exception of OU home football gamedays).

The CART website has:

  • Bus route maps and schedules
    • the primary campus depot drops riders off on Asp Avenue (near the football stadium)
      • this is 0.2 miles walking on sidewalks to Bizzell Memorial Library's south entrance (stairs)
      • this is 0.25 miles walking on sidewalks to Bizzell Memorial Library's west entrance (handicap accessible).
  • A 7:02 video tutorial (with music and closed-captioning) on how to ride the bus and how to put a bicycle on the bike rack

Bicycles and Scooters

  • A new OU policy states that any electric personal vehicles (including e-bikes and e-scooters) cannot be brought into university buildings due to the hazards of batteries.
    • " all electric personal vehicles with lithium-ion batteries, including but not limited to, electric scooters, electric bikes, hoverboards and electric skateboards, may not be charged or stored inside university buildings."
  • You cannot bring any type of bicycle (manual or electric) into the library.
    • Bike racks are located outside the west entrance of the Bizzell.
    • A limited supply of bike locks are available for checkout at the west circulation desk.
  • Non-electric scooters may be brought into the library but must be carried, not rolled, by patrons.
  • VeoRide offers electric scooters and bikes to rent for a small fee.
