The Youngblood Energy (Geology) Library has more than 150,000 maps.
Types of maps:
- Topographic
- Geologic
- Stratigraphic
- Structural
- Tectonic
- Oil and Gas
- Land Use
- Railroad
- Highway
- Tourist (city, state, country)
Arrangement of Maps:
- Most maps are arranged geographically (by country or by state) and are shelved in flat map case drawers. Each drawer has a unique number.
- Maps-in-series are arranged by series number and are shelved in lateral files.
Maps can also be found in the OU Libraries at:
- Western History Collections (Monnet Hall)
- Government Documents department (Bizzell Memorial Library)
Geographic Information Systems
