About the Architecture Library

Serving the five divisions of the College of Architecture: Architecture, Construction Science, Interior Design, Landscape Architecture, and Regional and City Planning, the University of Oklahoma Architecture Library is located within newlyrenovated Gould Hall. Since its establishment in 1950, the library has grown from a collection of 2,900 books housed in the football stadium to a modern facility helping to prepare students to enter a rapidly changing profession. The highlight of the collection is an archive of blueprints by renowned architects Frank Lloyd Wright and Bruce Goff, a former faculty member of the College of Architecture. The Lt. Orville S. Witt Jr. Collection, established in memory of a student killed in World War II, contains material devoted to Wright and Goff as well as books on the history of architecture and the personal library of former OU professor Mendel Glickman, Frank Lloyd Wright’s main engineer for more than thirty years.

In response to the evolving interests of the College, the Architecture Library has placed extra emphasis on developing our holdings in the areas of sustainability and green building, aging in place and interior design. Periodical holdings include sixty-four subscriptions in either print or electronic formats. Additionally, owing to the increasing interdisciplinary nature of the field, students and faculty frequently call upon the resources of the entire University Libraries system.
