Our Mission

The Publishing Services program at the University of Oklahoma Libraries advances knowledge through the consistent publication of original, sustainable, faculty-led, peer-reviewed open access journals that cover unique and underrepresented fields and topics at no cost to readers or authors.

We aim to establish meaningful, long-lasting partnerships with a broad spectrum of journal teams to bring their ideas and visions to life, connect researchers and stakeholders from across disciplines, backgrounds, and identities with sound, thought-provoking resources, and foster a collaborative community rooted in the equal opportunity to discover and share information. We aim to create an environment that stimulates collaboration and knowledge, to assist faculty and their teams in the creation and ongoing development of their journals with respect to best practices, help them reach their potential to deliver quality content, and provide services designed to ensure they are well-supported and empowered.

Through this model, we embody our parent institution’s educational and research mission to make excellence affordable and attainable.

Our Vision

The OU Libraries’ Publishing Services program strives to create a world where journal content is accessible to all without economic, technical, or social barriers.
