What is Research Publication Subvention Funding?

Research Publication Subvention Funding is an OU Libraries' program which primarily aims to support OU-affiliated researchers in publishing their work in open-access publications?

How much funding will successful applicants receive?

The funding varies depending on the type of publication and the type of open-access the publisher supports.

Do I need to submit a budget with my application?

Not at all! While we do provide examples of the types of costs covered by our funding these are only informative. OU Libraries is happy to support publications 

I'm not faculty, can I apply for a grant?

Yes! While it will vary depending on the type of publication and type of open-access there are funding opportunities for everyone from undergraduate students to faculty and staff.

I've received subvention funding before, can I apply again?

YES! You can apply for funding once every fiscal year.

Does Subvention Funding only cover open-access?

No! While open-access publications are the primary focus of the Research Publication Subvention Funding OU Libraries, with support from the Provost's Office and the Office of the Vice President for Research and Partnerships, is happy to also support non open-access publications with some limitations.
