Impact Champion Initiative
The Open Access Impact Champion Initiative at the University of Oklahoma is designed to highlight and support faculty and researchers who actively participate in Open Access (OA) practices. The initiative encourages the deposit of scholarly work in SHAREOK, adoption of OA publishing, and engagement with OA advocacy efforts. By increasing the accessibility of research, the initiative strengthens knowledge dissemination and enhances research visibility.

Promote awareness and adoption of the OU Open Access Policy.

Encourage faculty and researchers to deposit their work in SHAREOK.

Recognize and celebrate faculty who contribute to Open Access.

Receive subvention funding for OA publishing.

Deposit scholarly work in SHAREOK.

Create Open Educational Resources (OER).

Participate and engage with the Impact Champion Digital Passport.
Impact Champion Initiative: Become an Impact Champion!
Faculty members interested in becoming an Impact Champion can start by:

Depositing their research in SHAREOK.

Attending an Open Access workshop or consultation.

Engaging with the Impact Champion social media campaign.

Participating in the Impact Champion Digital Passport (more information can be found on the Digital Passport tab).
