Not an Exhaustive List

Just a note here to say this list is certainly a work in progress. The heavy hitters are here but we are happy to add resources as requested.

Permalink to Library Database

Persistent links to all databases licensed for use by OU community members can be found on the Databases & E-Reference Materials page on the library's website. The link can be found by clicking on "More Information" in each resource record. These links already have the proxy prefix applied so you can share with people on and off campus.

Link to items in EBSCO

View the full record for the article you wish to link to.

On the right side of the screen, click the link for "Permalink".

Copy the link provided.

You can also share a list of search results. On the top right of the results, click "Share" and a Permalink will be provided.

Link to Gale

Once you find the article you want to use, click on "Get Link" in the top right corner of the page.

A popup window will open with the link.

Link to JSTOR

Navigate to the article you wish to share

Below the bibliographic information you will find a stable link.

You will want to add the proxy prefix to this link before sharing to ensure on and off campus access. For example: https://login.ezproxy.lib.ou.edu/login?url=https://www.jstor.org/stable/1704850

Alternatively, there is a proxied link hidden in the item details farther down the page. Caution: The location of this information can vary by journal title.

Link to JSTOR Ebooks

Navigate to the title you want to link to. Clicking on a JSTOR ebook link in the catalog should take you to a Table of Contents Page for the book. On this page you will find a permalink for the title in the bibliographic information at the top and each chapter should also have a link associated with it. If you navigate to a chapter and cannot find a permalink in the chapter record, you can click on "Table of Contents" on the top left to return to the list with permalinks. Some books provide chapter links with chapter content, but not all do.

Caution: Permalinks will appear differently depending on whether the item is accessed on campus or off campus.

On Campus (without proxy included, add proxy prefix):

Off Campus (proxy included):

Link to Kanopy

Kanopy is a bit unusual in their linking options.

It may be easiest to search for the film title in the Discover/Local Catalog and provide the permalink to the catalog record. This will ensure the user will be identified as being from OU when they access the video through the Kanopy link.

Ex: The film "I am not your negro."

Linking through the database is also possible. Click on "Share" then "Copy Link"

When this link is clicked on, the user will be taken to a page where they will need to click on the "Watch Now" button and then provide their campus identification (4x4 and password).

Caution: Neither of these options will provide a link that will work in a group setting (i.e. class showing through Zoom). Our Kanopy license is set up for each user having to log in (authenticate) individually.

This will open a popup window where you have to agree to the terms and conditions and then you will be provided with a sharable link.
