Artificial intelligence (AI) offers a variety of benefits for the transportation industry. From simple tools that make routine tasks easier and more efficient to complex algorithms that can analyze data to identify patterns and make reliable predictions, AI has quickly become a part of our everyday lives. And as tools and AI-based systems become even more advanced, the opportunities for improved safety and cost savings may grow even more. But AI also brings new challenges, questions and potential pitfalls, and a better understanding of these will be key to helping transportation agencies maximize the benefits while successfully navigating the risks of this exciting new frontier.

This guide provides resources to help make transportation librarians aware of the key issues, policies and potential of using AI.
