Multi-stakeholder Initiatives
Multi-stakeholder Initiatives (MSIs) are collaborations between various participants, such as businesses, NGOs, academics, and civil groups who share the same concern. The collaboration works to address relevant issues and provide for working solutions in the absence of law and authority. Numerous MSIs focus on the extractives industry and their respect for human rights. MSI guidance and principles can be very enlightening as a framework for businesses to implement good practices in the field of human rights.
