This guide will identify the major resources in Federal Archaeology Law and in Paleontological Resources. It will specifically look at the existing federal scheme. This guide seeks to help researches identify what statue or statues governs their issue and how they can comply with that statue. This guide also seeks to provide useful information to those who work on and in conjunction with federal lands.
For whatever issue being researched, the researcher will need to consult federal and state statues, regulations, and case law. The researcher will need to identify the appropriate administrative agencies, and search for any guidance documents they provide. A researcher will also want to consult practice treatises, law journal articles and other secondary to understand developing issues in this area of law or to get guidance while practicing in this field.
