Getting Started

This guide contains links to digital and print resources useful to the study of English-language literature, as well as information on conducting research. Note that many of these resources are only available to active students, faculty, and staff of the University of Oklahoma.

NYRB

New! The New York Review of Books is now available online, providing fully digitized content from 1963 to the present. The NYRB publishes articles, essays, and reviews of books on a variety of subjects including literature, culture, the arts, economics, science, and current affairs.

Time Traveler

Time Traveler is a fun tool from Merriam-Webster that lets you enter a year and see words that were first found in print in that year. Select your birth year and see what vocabulary came about around the same time that you did! Clicking a word or phrase shows you its definition and usage.
