Simmons Catalyst

Simmons-Catalyst is a database of data regarding consumer's use of products, brands and media. This data is based on a survey of over 25,000 individuals, that is used to analyze the demographic and psychographic characteristics of customers’ usage behavior for all major media, more than 450 product categories, and over 8,000 brands.

A few examples of how to used Simmons-Catalyst:

  • Create a demographic profile of cyclists, runners, and golfers.
  • Compare demographics of MLB, NBA, NFL, and NASCAR fans.
  • Analyze whether mountain bikers are more or less likely to drink craft beer than hikers
  • Cross tab sports fans to which restaurants they like to eat at the most

Catalyst can be accessed from the OU Libraries webpage under Resources or from several LibGuides such as Market Research. Always access databases from the Libraries page or a LibGuide. Please remember when you are off campus you will be prompted for your 4x4.

Database landing pages and result pages may look different depending on devise using, or browser.  This guide was created on a MacBook using Sirius platform.
