Databases Covering the Middle East and North Africa

Please note that the library does not own all the journals and other materials cited in databases on this page. Many databases provide a "Check for Full Text Link," that will help you see if full text is available in another database and, if not, will allow you to request the material via interlibrary loan. When the Check for Full Text link is not available, search for the title of the journal in the Local Catalog. (See this page for instructions.)

Tip!

Most database providers have a feature allowing you to create an account with them. The benefits of creating these accounts include the ability to

  • save your research into folders,
  • save and edit past searches, and
  • receive notification when new articles matching your search terms are added to the database index.

EBSCO, ProQuest, and JSTOR are some of the providers you will frequently encounter in your research. As long as you have accessed a database from on campus or using your 4x4, the company will recognize you as an authenticated OU user, and registering for an account is just a matter of selecting a username and password.
