American History in Video

American History in Video provides access to commercial and governmental newsreels, archival footage, public affairs footage, and important documentaries related to American history. The collection can be browsed by Title, Newsreel Timeline, People, Places Discussed, Historical Events, Publishers, and Content Types. The entire collection can be searched. Some videos are divided into tracks, allowing viewers to easily skip to sections. Closed captioning is available, and searchable transcripts are provided for each video. Some also include supplemental materials.
