About the Collections

The History of Science Collections is a major repository for six centuries of the printed record of science, containing nearly 100,000 items. 

 

The pages in this section provide info on scope of materials in the collections (with select examples) including:

  • published lists and exhibition catalogs
  • overview of formats, genre, languages, periods, places & cultures, and topics 
  • thematic lists (from class visits/tours & curated lists)

 

Keep in mind that in additional to original editions held in the Collections, primary source materials may also be available in other formats and versions  (modern editions, microfilm, digitized books).
