Transactional Law Databases
Lexis+ and Westlaw each contain subject-specific legal collections. The library provides access to additional resources for in-depth subject specific research.
Lexis+
LexisNexis publishes Practical Guidance. This practice-focused collection of resources and tasks empowers the researcher in the transactional law setting to quickly understand an area of law and draft needed documents.
Westlaw
Westlaw's practitioner-focused platform is called Practical Law. It is similar to Lexis+ in design and document types. These document types include resource kits, practice notes, standard clauses and documents, and checklists, among other. Researchers should begin their research by locating a resource kit as these collect the various other document types into one place and provide an overview of the area of law.
