Seating

The Bizzell Library offers a variety of seating options to patrons including the following:

  • Wooden seating
  • Plastic seating
  • Cushioned seating
  • Small couches and arm chairs
  • Study tables on the main level have wooden chairs with no arm rests or cushions.
  • The Research Help Desk has a cushioned (non-rolling) chair with no arm rests.
  • The east side of the main level has seven leather couches.
  • The computer lab has rolling chairs with arm rests and back supports.

 

  • There are cushioned chairs (with arm rests) for patrons who wish to study independently.
  • There are minimally cushioned wooden chairs placed at the long study tables.

  • The study areas on the 1982 west side have cushioned and wider seating as well as office chairs.
  •  The study areas on the 1958 east side have long wooden tables with small wooden chairs. 

  • The study areas on the 1982 west side have cushioned and wider seating as well as office chairs.
  •  The study areas on the 1958 east side have long wooden tables with small wooden chairs. 

The reading room offers velvety cushioned chairs (with no arms rests).

  • Study areas
    • The Helmerich Collaborative Learning Center and the Learning Lab utilize both plastic chairs and cushioned seating.
    • The Community Room has non-rolling chairs with backs and no arms.
    • LL123 has rolling chairs with backs and no arms 
    • East side pods: The pod seats offer a cushioned recliner with a foldable trey and footrest. 
    • East side cubicles: The cubicles offer small rolling chairs with a wooden desk. The chairs are semi-cushioned with arms and a back rest.
  • Workshop and consultation areas
    • The Community Room has non-rolling chairs with backs and no arms.
    • LL123 has plastic rolling chairs with backs and no arms.
    • LL121E (Conference Room) has rolling chairs with backs and arms
    • LL121 studios have rolling chairs, mostly with backs and arms, but some (?) without arms as well as two lounge chairs (height of seat: )

The Zarrow Family Faculty and Graduate Student Center has both cushioned and non-cushioned seating options.

  • The central lounge has couches as well as high wooden chairs. 
  • Outside the lounge area, open tables and couches are available.
  • The faculty side has
    • one treadmill desk
    • one standing desk
    • many traditional desks

Study Pods

The LL1 study pods contain cushioned seats with foot rests and laptop trays.

Seating Dimensions:

  • Tray: 14" length (can be pulled all the way against the cushioned seat).
  • Seat back: 24" length
  • Seat bottom: 21"  length
