History of Science Searching & Research Guide

Find Journals Using OU Databases

A variety of databases available through OU Libraries can be used to find information about journals.

  • Worldcat: a worldwide catalog of library holdings. This is an essential tool for learning about materials held in locations beyond OU. Journals are included. If OU does not hold a particular item, you may be able to borrow it from another library.
  • UlrichsWeb: database containing "detailed information on more than 300,000 periodicals (also called serials) of all types: academic and scholarly journals, e-journals, peer-reviewed titles, popular magazines, newspapers, newsletters, and more."
  • For periodicals, see Guide to Newspapers and Magazines (by Kristal Boulden)
